Los Hollywood: No Te Aguites.
I love this song because when I first heard it, I immediately understood it. I understood the lyrics and what she was saying to whoever she was talking to. It was great. It’s also been a while since I’ve heard a great female voice. They won the MySpace Latino Battle of the Bands and I interviewed them when they came to Chicago and played at Rumba. They’re a great band from California and hopefully I get to see them again when I go out for a visit.
B.o.B. ft. Bruno Mars: Nothing On You
For some unknown reason, this is one of my new favorite songs that I really can’t get enough of. This one and the next one.
Rhianna: Rude Boy
I don’t know if it’s the color or the style or just the song, but I think it’s great. Definitely a 2010 summer song this year. When I saw this video and then heard the remix it made me want to dance. (How cliché for a girl, right?)
Depeche Mode: Precious
This song reminds me of Spain. Playing the Angel was released in 2005 when I was out there and had it before anyone here in the US! I saw this video at a gay bar in Granada called 6 Colours that we would all go to on a weekly basis. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the television.
Depeche Mode: In Sympathy
This is another song that I connected with right off the bat. It’s off of their newest album Sounds of the Universe. It has a great beat. This isn’t the official video, just the song.
Ingrid Michaelson: The Way I Am
It’s a cute song. I dig it. And I like to sing it.
Jose Alfredo Jimenez: El Rey
Mariachi music doesn’t get any more classic than Jose Alfredo. Born in 1926 in the birthplace of Mexican independence (Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato) this singer became one of the most recognizable mariachi singers of the generation.
That’s it for right now. I have so much more to share, but for now, this is it. 🙂
Tell me what you think.
